Spanning WWII and the 90s, this ambitious global book never ceases to inform across a wide-range of subjects: codes, crypto currencies (way before they existed), reinvented (or reimagined) history, hidden treasure, Greek gods, computers, combat, survival, UBoats. No subject gets short shrift over the 900+ pages. Not a long slog but not for the faint of heart either.
